ASA Slam Vodafone Ad

Have you ever read an ad and I thought 'this sounds too good to be true? "Unfortunately, most of the time it is! Therefore, the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) vet campaigns to ensure they are not misleading.

The ASA has recently received a complaint challenging an indication that Vodafone was going to advertise their services for the mobile Internet. The announcement said that "every site, every time. £ 7.50 per month. Customers, defines this to be interpreted so as to obtainunlimited use of Internet for € 7.50 per month.

The £ 7.50 per month deal in reality offers 120MB of data allowance per month, the United Kingdom, which is clearly not what the listing. Surprises Vodafone define means 'any' time, in the sense of "something" or "the smallest amount of '! Played I mean any site at any time" as an indication that you are not on the websites you visit or what time all day only to visit them. The fact that the £ 7.50 per monthdoes not indicate any specific purpose payments does seem to navigate without limits on the amount of time spent on the Internet.

The ASA upheld the complaints are forced to sell due to the fact that customers actually might have interpreted the title of unlimited access to the Internet instead of 120MB to Vodafone. Vodafone has been told not to use the ad again because of the misleading text and the fact that the disclaimer at the bottom of the ad was not prominentenough.

A note to all - always check the fine print!
